Butterflies

Alden's class got to take care of caterpillars and watch them turn into butterflies. He really enjoyed (I think it might be the only bug he is not terrified of). Scott got to go to school and watch the kids release the butterflies. It was alot of fun!

New Puppies

Can you believe we did it again? We are nuts! Sasha had another litter of puppies. She had 11 this time, but 2 didn't make it, so nine to play with. This will definitely be our last time around though. It is just too much work cleaning up after them. They are now 7 weeks so we are in the process of selling them. Scott and the boys love playing with them, though, I'm not sure you can call what Brig does to them playing!

Happy Birthday Scott!

Scott turns 31 today. For his birthday (since he bought his own present) I decided I would write down a few of the things that I think are great about him

1. He is a great dad

-When reading scriptures with the boys he explains things so clearly so it makes sense

-He will play games with the boys and has much more patience in teaching them the rules than I do.

-He lets the boys take turns going with him to run errands and stuff so they can spend one on one time with him.

-He helps them with their homework and is creative with all their assignments

2. He is a great husband

-he always spoils me with surprises

-he doesn't complain when I don't make dinner

-he will stop on his way home from work to get groceries or some weird food I am craving

-he compliments the way I look (on the rare days i get dressed)

-he says how nice the house looks when he knows I have been cleaning all day

-he lets me complain everyday several times a day about how miserable I am being pregnant

-he does all the stupid school projects the boys bring home that I hate doing

-he makes dinner atleast 1/2 the time (and sometimes lunch and breakfast) cuz I hate cooking

-When I ruin dinner he eats it anyway and trys to tell me it wasn't that bad

3. He is a great person

-very hard working

-smart with a love of learning

-has a good heart and is always trying to help people

-very idependant, can fix anything or figure out how to if he doesn't already know

-funny, has a great sense of humor

-is a good cook

There are so many more things I could list. I hope you have a great birthday and know that the boys and I love you so much and are so greatful to be a part of your life. Thanks for all the wonderful things you are and do for us!

Happy Anniversary!

The car looks nicer without the fat people standing in front of it. They minivan in the background is what I normally get to drive. The boys inform me all the time that it is not cool or fast and we should get a new car so they were pretty excited to get a ride in this even if it only was for a day.

Scott and I have been married for nine years now! The time has gone by so fast. Scott has a reputation for being very thoughtful and giving me really nice gift. He did not fail this time either. I was sent two dozen roses on Tuesday telling me to have an overnight bag ready Wednesday morning and that I would be picked up "in style", and not to worry about details because everything was taken care of. Well Scott had everything taken care of from car pool rides for the boys to getting babysitters and everything else. He would not tell me a word about what we were doing but did show up Wednesday in this very flashy corvette to take me away for the day. We went to Sedona for the evening and just relaxed and had a good time. We got massages and ate dinner at a really nice restaraunt and just had fun driving the car around. Leave it to the kids to try to ruin thing though. We hadn't even been in Sedona for an hour when we recieved a call from Scotts family that Alden had passed out and the paramedics were on there way to check him out. They had to take him to the ER and get all sorts of x-rays and blood work. He ended up being fine they thought maybe he was dehydrated and sent him home. Then he just ran a fever and didn't feel good All day Thurday. Needless to say Ryan and Heidi will not ever agree to babysitting for us ever again (sorry guys). We can never repay them for having to deal with that. So we did sit around for a while worring and wondering if we needed to get back in town. Dispite that incident we still had a nice relaxing good time. I love Scott so much and can't imagine life without him. He is so good to me and spoils me rotten. He makes everyone jealous because he is so thoughtful and comes up with the best ideas to keep our marriage exciting, his only problem is now people expect this kind of stuff all the time so he can never stop cuz after every birthday/holiday everyone wants to know what Scott did for me this time. He has been doing this for 9 years now and hasn't ran out of ideas yet!

Hiking Trip

The boys have taken up hiking recently. Scott and I took them on a short hike on one of the easy trails up at the Superstition Mountains and we had a lot of fun. Since then Scott has been wanting to take them hiking again. So today he took Alden and Dallin on a tougher hike up to Freemont Saddle in the Superstition Mountains. It was a tough hike for an overweight dad (according to Scott) and two little boys. It was about 2 miles one way and all of it going up! But they did it! Scott said everyone did a double-take when they passed them on the trail because they were surprised the boys were doing so well. Dad and Dallin were exhausted when they got back down but Alden was still running and jumping off rocks! I don't know where he get's his energy from! They had a good time with their dad.

It's A Girl !!!

For those who were wondering, yes, I am pregnant not just getting fat. I am 18 weeks along and just went yesterday for my ultra sound. After having three boys we are finally getting our baby Lila. I am due June 21st and we are very excited.

When we announced to the boys it was a sister they started jumping up and down yelling "YEA!" Dallin claims he is going to save his money to buy her a "cute dress" (and knowing Dallin, he probably will). Alden saw the ultrasound video the Dr. recorded for us and with all the baby's movement said she is going to be a good dancer. Brig still thinks he wants to be the baby of the family (spoiled little booger) but he also is happy to be getting a baby.

Although the above picture is not the "pornographic" shot, the Dr. felt very confidant it was a girl and we have seen the proof (or what the doctor pointed out to be the body part in question.....or lack therof). So we just picked her "best side" to post on our blog.

We are happy and excited and, yes, her name is Lila after Scott's grandma, and it's also a name we have always thought cute, we just finally got the chance to use it.

Santa Claus is coming to town!

We had our monthly Thurston Family dinner at Tanya's house this month. She had it set up for a special visitor to comeby while we were all there. It was so much fun. The kids loved it, and it sure beat standing in line at the mall to get pictures with santa. Brig was a little scared of Santa at first but he sat on Mrs. Claus lap and told Santa what he wanted for Christmas. Thanks Tanya we had a great time.

The kids were all on their best behavior raising their hands to answer questions and waiting to be called on it was pretty amazing.

The kids were so excited when the door knocked they all had a good idea who was coming.

Brig's preschool class had a little Christmas program. It was pretty funny. His cousins Jalyn and Gavin are both in the class with him. Gavin wouldn't stand up with the kids and sing though. Jalyn did great she sang all the words and did the actions to the songs. Brig was really shy about it but he did try. you could see his mouth moving barely but could hear no words.

Dallin's Birthday

Dallin had a great birthday. I cannot believe he is five already. He wanted a Star Wars party and since Aunt Sandee was not available to do the cake I had to do it on my own. It was pretty scary but Dallin seemed satisfied. He told everyone he wanted lightsabers for his b-day so he ended up with plenty of them.

Christmas party

This weekend we went to SRP's annual Christmas party. It was a lot of fun. They bring in snow, have lots of carnival rides and best of all fly Santa in on a helicopter. The boys had a lot of fun for the most part. It was pretty warm outside though and we were all very tired by the time we were done. Alden was disappointed he wasn't tall enough for a few of the rides he is a thrill seeker. The other boys were very content with the smaller children rides though they aren't as brave as Alden.

Halloween

The boys had a lot of fun for Halloween this year. We got way too much candy though. We had our annual ward trunk or treat on the 30th and then they boys all had parties at school Friday. Friday afternoon we made it over to Grandma Thurstons so we could take pictures with the cousins and show off costumes. Then it was off to the Marble's for our traditional get together. We all hang out eat soup and sit around a fire pit, take turns passing out candy and walking the kids around trick or treating. It is alot of fun but a much larger group. It was really hard to get all the kids together for a picture. I don't think I really succeeded at getting a picture with everyone in it. The kids had a lot of fun. Alden was captain Rex from starwars the clone wars, Dallin was a Jedi, and Brig was confused for a power ranger but was actually Bumble Bee from Transformers.

I am glad to be on to the next holiday though. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas so much more than Halloween!
