Happy Birthday to me!

This summer Scott won a "staycation" package off of KTAR radio station. It was to the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale for a two night stay and came with a massage and $100 gift certificate to the Macaroni Grill. Well we held on to it to use for my birthday. Scott was very lucky we never win anything and it made planning my birthday so much easier for him for a change since he thinks he has to go all out for everything. Free is always good too. Plus it was fun for him to hear his own name on the radio saying he won and having friends and family call him cuz they heard it too. Anyway, Tanya and Nick stayed with the boys the first night and then we came home and got them and brought them to the hotel for the second night. It was a lot of fun for them. They each recieved a free stuffed animal with the turn down service, which they thought was awesome that someone came to our room to get our beds ready.


The pool was bigger than any pool I have ever seen before. It had a wonderful view and was fun to swim and watch the sun set. They boys could have stayed there the whole time if we would have let them. Lila got to wear her cute swimming suit that I found at the dollar store too. I was excited about that. I haven't tired yet of playing dress up with her!

The boys got an afternoon snack with their own name written on it in Chocolate. They thought that was the coolest thing ever.

I got to go to lunch with my awesome in-laws on Saturday to celebrate my birthday. I have such a good time hanging out with them. I also went out a couple weeks before my birthday with the girls in my family to celebrate mine and my moms b-days. I am so lucky to have great family on both sides. If I were rich I would make this a weekly event. Despite the depressing year I was turning (30), and all the teasing I got. I had a really great birthday.

Sharing a little Sunshine!

Lila finally fits into this cute outfit her daddy picked out for her before she was even born. Scott calls it her "sour apple outift." It is a newborn size but seems to be bigger than others. Most of the newborn stuff she is finally growing out of, this one she is barely growing into. When she was in for her two month check she was only 8 pounds 7 ounces, 3% on the charts. She is definately going to be a petite little thing. All the ages are fun to watch a baby grow but we are really enjoying her right now because she is easy to get to smile and loves to coo and make noises like she is talking to you. We all think she is just adorable. In fact the other day the boys were talking about how cute she is and daddy asked them if they know what her middle name Belle means and told them it meant beautiful and Brig said yeah that is cuz she is a princess like Belle on Beauty and the beast. She is a princess for sure, and definatley she is our "sunshine"!!!

Grandpa Brad

My kids are very lucky to have two amazing grandpa's they love and adore both of them. My dad however wants to make sure that his children get payback for all the crazy things we did as kids. Plus he just loves having a good time with the grandkids. Grandpa Brad is always teaching the kids how to do stuff that mom and dad would normally not approve of, somehow, though, when grandpa is around they just don't get in trouble for it. At our latest family dinner hosted at our house, grandpa got the kids dessert. All you need is a spoon and a chair so you can reach. Now if they were not all cousins I would be even more disgusted than if they were perfect strangers but family germs just aren't as bad as other people's germs I guess. The kids thought it was great. When are they ever able to eat ice cream straight out of the container. Notice Brig with the ice cream scoop though, I have taught someone well at least.

Like always Grandpa Brad was the life of the party at our monthly family dinner. The kids all had a blast being lifted onto the plant shelves. All of the grandkids got a turn even the little one year old babies (Lila excluded of course). Can you tell who the dare devil is?

Creeped Out!!

My sister has me all creeped out about crazy people that do crazy things with pictures people post of their kids on their blogs and stuff. So, while in the past I never thought it was necessary to have an invite only blog, she has definately changed my mind. Bob Cat

Alden earned his Bobcat award last night at his Cub Scout Pack Meeting. This was his first award and he was so excited. He was a little confused at trying to pin my "mothers pin" on me having never done such a thing before. They had the boys who recieved their "bob"cat "bob" for apples. Not an easy task when you are toothless. Poor Alden also got stuck with the tallest bowl (he is by far the shortest by at least a head). He was a good sport about it though and with a little lift to reach the bowl finally got his apple. He has great friends in our ward and school that cheered him on the whole time (for me being an over protective mother it is nice that he is never teased about his size). They also had a watermelon eating contest. Alden was not happy that it had seeds in it. Who's ever heard of a watermelon with seeds anyway?? He has very particular parents that are always saying to not be messy and he wanted to know why everything has to be a contest to be the fastest and get messy. I thought that was pretty funny. Alden did have fun with the water balloon launcher though and even caught one. Good thing Scott takes better pictures than I do. Luckily we have a good group of scout leaders and they always bring extra of whatever they are doing/eating for the other kids, so Dallin and Brig had fun as well.

Amazing Mom!

In the scriptures, the Lord talks about blessings He can bestow upon us that are "beyond our comprehension." Well, this captures a portion of what He meant! I imagined having an amazing, beatiful companion, and a loving, special mother for my children, but the Lord upheld His word because Jaime is more than I ever could have imagined or hoped for. Love you Jaime!

So my camera is really really slow when you push the button to actually take a picture but these were a few attempts of me getting Lila's smile on camera. Scott can get her to smile all the time. She doesn't smile as easily for me but she does make both of our day when she does smile. She is just so sweet!

Catching Up

Okay so I am really horrible at keeping this blog updated so to catch up on all the things that have happened lately...
Alden was baptized on July 11th. He was so excited to get baptized and it was a really good day for him. Hopefully he will have good memories of his special day. He was spoiled with gifts from lots of family and friends and he was very excited to have Aunt Tara and Great Grandma Thurson and Norton there. Alden has lost five teeth in the last couple weeks though so while it doesn't show in this picture he has a toothless grin. It is pretty funny looking.

Since everyone was here for Alden's baptism we decided to have Lila blessed last Sunday too. She wore the dress that I was blessed in as a baby and suprisingly it was fairly white. It held up pretty good all these years. She was a little small in it but that is okay. She is just a little tiny thing, while my boys are all small they didn't start out that way as babies so I am still trying to get use to how small she is. She is still wearing newborn clothes and some of them are still big on her.




Dallin is the best big brother. All the boys are really. They all give her a binky the second she starts to fuss and they are good at throwing diapers away and getting me things for her like burp rags and stuff but Dallin takes extra good care of her. When she is fussy wanting to eat or something and I am finishing up doing something he gets right next to her and sings Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to try to make her stop crying. It is really sweet.

Uninvited Guest!

Today I kept thinking I was seeing things. I would catch a glimpse of something out of the corner of my eye but when I looked there was nothing. I finally stopped what I was doing at one point to investigate. I thought I saw something go under the couch. When I pulled the couch back I found a huge lizard take off running! Needless to say I was startled but lucked out when it ran into the small closet where I keep the vacuum. I threw a towel across the bottom of the door to keep it from escaping until Scott got home from work. As you can see, he and the boys had fun with it. The boys were a bit hesitant to go near it but Scott talked them into touching it. After they made it pose for photos, they then went outside and let it go and it took off up the side of the house. I'm not sure how it got in the house but I know I don't need anymore uninvited (or invited) reptiles in the house!

new diet

Okay so I must be the worst mom ever. I have really been taking advantage of the whole new baby thing. I sleep much more than I probably should. Our floor needs mopped desperately ( I figure if I hold out a couple more days Scott will get sick enough of it that he will do it himself), and my kids are pretty much on their own for breakfast and lunch which means sugary cereal or waffles with suryp overload and hot dogs and chips for lunch. Pretty much they have been eating junk for the last couple weeks. Brig has made up his own new "diet" though and I only wish that I had thought of taking pictures before cleaning up his messes.
First on Monday he decided he wanted french toast, well not really he just wanted the powder sugar we put on it. so while I was taking one of my many naps Brig helped himself to a powder sugar lunch. Ate it straight from the container got it all over the floor (yes the floor is still sticky) and was covered in it from head to toe and when one of the boys told me what he was doing he said he was trying to eat french toast for lunch. If that wasn't bad enough Tuesday for breakfast, while I was taking another one of my many naps. He decided he wanted cinnamon toast. Well he at the whole shaker of cinnamon and only used one slice of bread. however the bread did not have a single bite taken out of it. He just licked the cinnamon/sugar off and put more on and repeated over and over again. Yes again he was covered in it as was the kitchen. Iam thinking it is about time we might want to get some real food in our house again...

I am a horrible mom and have not taken any pictures of her since we have been home. She sleeps so much and then I just don't think about it when she is actually awake. I will try to get more pics up soon. She is still so tiny I can't believe it. I have never had such a small baby before.

Lila Belle has arrived!

Lila Belle was born today. She is a healthy 6 pounds, 7 ounces and 19 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing excellent. The boys are so thrilled!!! More pics to come soon!
